Overall description of NAMBHA
NAMBHA is a non-profit organization, 501c3, established in 2003, made up of four ethnic-specific behavioral health associations. Its purpose is to bring organizations representing diverse groups of color together as a single voice to increase the effectiveness of advocacy, ensure a positive impact on the use of resources, and to collectively share expertise on behavioral health issues that significantly impact people of color.
Our Mission
The mission of NAMBHA is to collectively promote the behavioral well-being and full potential of people of color and to eliminate disparities in behavioral health services and treatment through policy reform, culturally appropriate research and evaluation, systems change and transformation, acquisition and distribution of resources, and consumer involvement
Purpose

Goals
• Eliminate racial/ethnic disparities in behavioral health
• Promote greater use of behavioral health prevention & intervention programs by people of color
• Improve accessibility to and availability of quality services and treatment
• Provide a forum to strengthen the voices of consumers in recovery; enhance the resiliency of
families & youth of color
